“It was a good match, I really enjoy playing on grass! And of course, enjoy the game with Shvedova, too. I am looking forward to the semifinal”– said Timi happily.
The match lasted 1 hour 41 minutes.
The 63-minute opening set brought an extremely great and interesting battle. Timi and Shvedova broke the opponent immediately, and had two chances for a 3:0 lead. But the Chinese pair came back, and they did it after the next service loss.
And they had a great chance for the set. At 5:4, they had three set points, but without success. Timi and her partner saved that game, and soon came the tie-break.
In that part of the quarter-final, Xu and Zheng led twice with a break, but the Hungarian-Kazakh pair came back. And they broke the opponent at 6-6, then they finished the set with own serve.
At the beginning of the second set Timi and Shvedova pulled away to a 3:0 lead, and had three break points. But Xu and Zheng saved that service, then they quickly equalized to 3:3…
Then, after 4:3 Timi and Shvedova broke the opponent easily, then they finished the match quickly, behind the serves.
Timi and Svedova will meet the Chan sisters in the semifinal.
