16/10/2014 – The second seed Timea Babos defeated in three sets in the second round of the 50 000 USD ITF tournament in France against Alberta Brianti.
The match lasted 2 hours 19 minutes.

In the 45-minute opening set the much more experienced Brianti served and received very well, she deservdly had the advantage. Although Timi broke back at 2:5, she couldn’t came back, because in the next game she lost her serve to 30. So there was no chance of a turn-around.
At the beginning of the second set Brianti had three break point (40-0) at 1:1, but the Hungarian player hold that service game. Then Timi broke her rival, and she repeated it at 5:2, so came the final set.
At the beginning of the third set Brianti saved a break point, and after that she won her opponent’s service game after a huge battle, she lived with the third chance. And this game decided the fate of the match.
The 34-year old Brianti hold her break advantage, til 5:3. Then Timi saved a match point, but the second chance was crucial. The Italian player advanced to the quarterfinal…
