20/02/2014 – Timi and Jarmila Gajdosova lost in the quarter-final of the 250 000 USD Rio Open in two sets against Irina-Camelia Begu and of Maria Irigoyen.
The match lasted 1 hour 29 minutes.

In the 38-minute first set Timi and Gajdosova started very badly…In the second game they lost the service game to 15, then the Romanian- Argentine duo pulled away 3:0.
At 3:1 the Hungarian-Australian duo broke the rivals to 15, and then equalized to 3:3. Unfortunately Begu and Irigoyen again won the opponent’s service game, then led 5:3. However, Timi and Gajdosova broke to 30, and served for the equalizing…
In the 10th game Begu and Irigoyen had a 40-0 lead as a receiver and won the fourth set point.
In the first part of the second set Timi and Gajdosova served perfectly, and at 2:2 they broke the rival to 40, and then led 4:2. Unfortunately, the advantage did not last long, the Romanian-Argentinian duo easily won three games and had a 5:4 lead. Timi and Gajdosova saved a match point and equalized, but then again fallen behind (5:6).
In the last game Begu and Irigoyen led 40-30 as a receiver, and after that they lived with the third match point to reach the semifinal…
Next week Timi will play in Florianopolis in singles and in in doubles, againt with Jarmila Gajdosova.
