12/12/2017 – The 24-year old Hungarian player is the first World Champion of the Hungarian Women’s Tennis.
On Tuesday, the list of candidates was announced in three categories for the Hungarian Athlete of the Year award. The name of the winners will be announced on 11 January at the gala named M4 Sport-Athlete of the Year 2017.
Timi is involved in the category of Female Athlete of the Year. This year she remained unbeaten in singles in Budapest, and she was also finalist at Quebec City and in Tashkent. In doubles she triumphed with Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in Sydney, and won with Czech Republic’s Andrea Hlaváčková in Rabat, Quebec City, Tashkent, Moscow and at the WTA Finals in Singapore. Thanks to the last triumph, Timi became the first female World Champion of Hungarian tennis.
