05/02/2014 – On Wednesday from 16 H CET at the Syma Hall the Hungarian Team will meet Romania at the first round of the Pool B of the Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone I.
In the opening singles Réka Jani will meet Sorana Cirstea, then come Timi against Simona Halep.
“The Fed Cup is a good opportunity for Me, I will have a lot of matches against good players. The home crowd always cheer Me, I’m really looking forward to it. Wednesday’s match will be perhaps the most important for Me, I will play against a Top10 star. But I hope a good game” – Timi said.
Last year in the quarterfinal in Budapest the 20-year-old Hungarian player lost 7:5, 6:1 against Halep. The Romanian ace won 6 WTA events in the 2013 season, she reached the Top10. Few days ago she was a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open.
In the first singles match of the Fed Cup the Romanian’s player will be the World No 26 Sorana Cirstea.
The Hungarian and the Romanian national team has met eight times in the Fed Cup, the result so far is 1-7. The Hungarians first and last time won in 1993, 2-1. At the last meeting the Romanians team won 2-0 in 2012 at Israel’s Eilat.
