11/05/2015 – Timi and Kristina Mladenovic face a familiar opponent in the second round of the doubles event at the 2 707 664 USD WTA tournament in Rome.

The 3rd seed Hungarian-French pair get Bye in the opening round: the first rival will be Vera Dushevina and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez in the Italian capital.


At this year’s Miami Open quarter-final Timi and Kiki won 6:1, 6:2 against Dushevina and Martinez Sanchez.


The 28-year old Russian player is ranked 111 in doubles. Her career best was 27 (25 June 2007). So far, she has won 2 WTA and 5 ITF tournament in this genre.


The 32-year old Spanish player returned to the WTA Tour after a nearly two yeaer absence. Currently ranked 189th, her career best was 5 (18 January 2010). During her career she has won 16 WTA and 22 ITF event in doubles. She was a semifinalist at the Roland Garros (2010, 2012) and at the US Open (2012). Six years ago she triumped at the year-ending WTA Finals with Nuria Llagostera Vives.
