Timea Babos (Hungarian)-Katerina Siniakova (Slovak) 7:6 (7-0), 7:5

“It was an interesting game, I did not play very well … I started playing with a wrong tactics. Despite the fact that we agreed with my coach. So, she led 5:2 with a double break. But I did not give up, I tried and I began to play better and better. In addition, I think my opponent is terrified of the possibility to win the set. Int he tie-break I was the much better player, and it was 7-0. I started well the second set, but my opponent was better, also. I broke her, but she managed to came back. Siniakova played an all-in-all basis, she “struck” everything. So it was hard end of the match. But at the most important moments she made mistakes. I’m happy with the win, because I did not play well, but I was able to fight. This is a good, valuable mental victory! Tomorrow I will be able to train and prepare for the next game” – said Timi.

The match lasted one hour and 50 minutes. The Hungarian player’s next opponent will be the 9th seed Monica Niculescu.
