06/05/2016 – The qualifying event started on Saturday in the Italian capital.
The 22-year old Hungarian player will enter the doubles event in the Foro Italico. Her partner again is Yaroslava Shvedova. Timi is the title holder with Kristina Mladenovic.
On Sunday late afternoon turned out that the Hungarian youngter’s opponent’s in singles will be Kiki Bertens. The 24-year old Dutch player is ranked 82nd, her career best position was 41 (April 15, 2013). So far, she has won 1 WTA and 7 ITF tournament in singles.
This year, Bertens reached the quarter-final from the qualies in Hobart (Australia, 250 000 USD, hard court), then in the Fed Cup she won on hard court against Ekaterina Makarova (6:3, 6:4) and Svetlana Kuznetsova (6:1, 6:4). In April, in the semifinal against France she defeated Caroline Garcia (6:4, 6:2) and also against Kristina Mladenovic (6:4, 7:5).

Three years ago in Marrakech Bertens defeated Timi, 7:5, 6:2.
