The Dubai semifinalist Hungarian-German pair began with a confident victory in Qatar. It’s true, in both sets the Chinese duo came back with a surprise break, and they fought bravely.
In the first 27-minute first set Timi and Goerges broke the opponent at 2:1, but they immediately lost that lead. In the sixth game the Chinese pair saved two break points (3:3).
In the eight game the sixth seed pair won the opponent’s service game to 15, and it was enough. They hold their serve to 0 in the next game, so they finished that act.
The second set was one-sided. Timi and Goerges broke the Chinese opponent to 30 and 15, so they jumped to a 5:1 lead. They won the opponent’s service game at 1:1 and 3:1.
At 5:1 Chen and Wang saved a match point, then they came back to 5:4. They won two games to 30. But they didn’t have a chance to equalize.
Timi and Goerges jumped to a 40-0 lead at 5:4, then they finished the game to 30.
