QF defeat in doubles

25/02/2016 – Timi and Julia Goerges saved a total of six match points, but the opponent lived with the seventh chance.

Hao-Ching Chan, Yung-Jan Chan (Taiwanese, 4)-Tímea Babos, Julia Goerges (Hungarian, German, 6), 6:1, 7:6 (8-6)

The 25-minute opening set was one-sided, the Taiwanese pair played much better, than the opponent. The Chan-sisters broke teh 6th seed pair at 1:0, but immediately lost that lead.

 

However, after that, the Taiwanese pair dominated the match. They broke Timi and Goerges a further two times, to 30 and 15. So they easily won the first set.

 

The second set brought a big battle. Timi and Goerges served much better, they kept the score with the opponent till 3:3. The Chan-sisters jumped to a 5:3 lead, and they had twice 2 match point in the ninth and tenth game. But without success.

 

At 5:5 the Hungarian-German pair lost their service game again, but they came back and forced the tie-break.

 

In the tie-break the Taiwanese pair led 5-2, and had another two match point at 6-4. Timi and Goerges equalized, but then they lost two rallies and the match.
