“Unfortunately, in this game I did not play aggressively enough, so therefore I didn’t lived with most of my chances. Of course, the task was not easy, because I think my opponent played with a good tactics. I learned a lot this week, there is still a lot of opportunity in my clay court tennis. I hope that in the coming weeks I will improve my game. Tomorrow I will travel to Madrid, and on Sunday I have the next match. And against Suarez Navarro, who is a great player, especially on clay. Nice challenge, for sure “– said Timi.
The match lasted 1 hour 47 minutes.
Timi was close to a huge surprise, but the much more experienced Tímea Bacsinszky played more accurately in the most important moments. And it was worth for the Rabat final.
In the 49-minute first set Timi fought back twice from a break behind, and at 4:4 she led 40-15 behind the serves. But, it was not enough. Bacsinszky came back, firstly equalized, then with a powerful tennis she broke her opponent. And few moments later, the Swiss player won the opening act.
Timi also fought hard in the second set, she tried everything. After 2:2, the 22-year old Hungarian player lost her service game, but she immediately came back. But unfortunately, her serves were not as good as always.
Timi lost her service game after 4:4, but she again came back. But, Bacsinszky broke her opponent again, after a great tennis.
But, it was not the end. In the next game Timi had two break points. She had a chance for 6:6, but she couldn’t lived with it. Bacsinszky came back, and finished the semifinal in Rabat.
