Defeat in the second round of the qualies

10/03/2015 – Alison Van Uytvanck won in two sets against Timi in the second qualifying round at the Indian Wells WTA tournament.

The match lasted 67 minutes. The 21-year old Hungarian will play in doubles with Kristina Mladenovic: the first opponents are Monica Niculescu and Alexandra Panova.

“I’m sorry … I felt incredibly difficult this match today. The opponent played almost perfectly. She hit winners as I had break points…It was incredibly difficult today”– said Timi.

 

The World No 118 Belgian player was more accurate in all the key moments of the match. For example Van Uytvanck broke her opponent three times and never lost her service game…

 

In the 36-minute opening set Van Uytvanck broke Timi after 1:1 to 0, then after 3:2 she survived difficult moments. The Hungarian player led 40-15 as a receiver, but she couldn’t lived with a total of 4 break points. After that Van Uytvanck easily won the first set, she hold her service game to 30 at 5:4.

 

At the beginning of the second set, in the fourth game Timi had another break point. But the rival saved this chance with an ace.

 

After that Van Uytvanck broke Timi twice, to 15, then to 30. In the last game the Belgian player lost two rally.

 

In doubles Timi again play with Kristina Mladenovic. The Dubai tournament winner Hungarian-French duo will meet the pair of Monica Niculescu and Alexandra Panova. In Dubai quarterfinal Timi and Kiki won 7:6, 6:4 against the Romanian-Russian pair.

 

The 27-year old Niculescu is ranked 48th in doubles, her career best was 24 (7 June 2010). During her career, she has won 4 WTA and 21 ITF tournament in this genre. At the Australian Open (2012) and Roland Garros (2010) she was already a quarterfinalist.

 

The 25-year-old Panova is ranked 43rd, her career best was 42 (15 April 2013). Throughout her career she has won 4 WTA and 13 ITF events in doubles.
