|Irina-Camelia Begu (Romanian, 4)-Tímea Babos (Hungarian, 8) 7:5, 7:5|
The match lasted 1 hour 56 minutes in Shenzhen.
“I think this was a good match. I had the chance to win, but Begu is a good player, and eventually she was the better on the court. I see with My coach what areas we need to work on and see what’s good. For this year my main goal is to fight at every game and enjoy the tennis. It was the case today! I fought back several times from a break down. Everyone has and will have emotions on the court, the main thing is how to control them. For Me this was a pretty good week so I can be happy. I closed a positive week” – said the Hungarian player.
Timi was close to reach the semifinal at the season-opening Shenzhen Open after 2016, but in the end, the 4th seed Romanian player triumphed.
