Defeat in the Monterrey final

07/04/2014 – Timi and Olga Govortsova lost the three sets doubles final against Darija Jurak and Megan Moulton-Levy at the 500 000 USD Monterrey WTA tournament.

The match lasted one hour and 30 minutes . It was the 20-year-old Hungarian player’s 11th final of a WTA tournament, she celebrated eight times.

“Unfortunately, in today’s match does we didn’t not succeed, as we would have liked. But it is was nice to play in the final, I enjoyed the week with Olga! It was good to be back in Monterrey, but it’s time to go home after such a long tour” – Timi said.


In the 42-minute first set, the first seed pair left unused a great chance…Timi hits the serves very well, but Govortsova didn’t. At 3:3 the Hungarian-Belarusian duo broke the rival, but Govortsova immediately lost her service game to 30.


At 5:5 Timi and her partner had four (!!!) break points, but they couldn’t lived with the chances. In the tie-break Juark and Moulton-Levy played better, they used the second set point.


At the beginning of the 33-minute second set the Hungarian-Belarusian duo had two break points, but they couldn’t take advantage from neither of them (2:2). Then Timi and Govortsova broke the rival at 3:2, but that lead did not last long …


The Belarusian player lost her service game to 30, and in the next game the opponent led 40-0. Timi and her partner didn’t give up, they won four rallies in a row, and led 5:3. In the next game the Hungarian youngster hold her serve to 30!


In the all-important tie-break Jurak and Moulton-Levy had a 4-2 lead, but after that the rival won four point (6-4). After that Timi and Govortsova had an 8-6 lead, but the Croatian-American pair equalized to 8-8. After that Jurak and Moulton-Levy had match points, and after 10-9 they won the final.
