Defeat in singles in Monterrey

05/03/2015 – World No. 12, second-seeded Sara Errani won in two sets against Timi in the second round of the 500 000 USD WTA tournament in Monterrey.

The match lasted 1 hour 14 minutes. The Hungarian player and Kristina Mladenovic on Thursday will debut in doubles: the opponents are Lara Arruabarrena and Raluca Olaru.

“I’m played very tired and not very well … Somehow Errani played well … When something was better then the other is broken. Her tactics were perfect against Me”– Timi said after the match.


In the 36-minute first set, the Italian player pulled away 4:0 within 15 minutes. Errani broke her rival to 0 and to 30, and after 1:0 she saved three break points. Then Timi won the fifth game, and after that she broke the World No 12.


Unfortunately, in the seventh game Errani again broke her opponent, but she immediately lost her own service game. But after 5:3 Timi couldn’t hold her service game, this time she won only two rally.


At the beginning of the second set the Hungarian youngster broke again Errani, but that lead didn’t last long. And Errani broke again after 3:2, which almost decided the fate of the match. In the seventh game Timi led 40-0 as a receiver, but the rival hold that service game (5:2).


In the final game Errani lost two rally, so she advanced to the quarterfinal.
