25/02/2014 – There was no surprise at the Brasil Tennis Cup’s 1st round : the first seed Carla Suarez-Navarro won in two sets against Tímea Babos (94th).
The match lasted 67 minutes.

The 20-year-old Hungarian player had extremely difficult opponent , as Suarez – Navarro holds a stable position directly behind the top players, she already celebrated beautiful wins. Timi “only” had triumphs in singles from the Fed Cup tournament in Budapest, but already had a WTA doubles title from Sydney and a final from Paris.
At the beginning of the 32-minute first set Suarez-Navarro broke at 1:1, she is well managed her rivals serves. In the fourth game Timi had three break points, but she couldn’t lived with them. And it cost a lot…The Hungarian youngster won her third service game at 3:1, but after that she didn’t really had a chance of a fight back.
In the eight game Suarez-Navarro had a doubles fault at the first set point, but but then took advantage of the second chance.
At the beginning of the second set the more experienced Spaniard broke Timi at 1:1 after 40-40, lived with the fourth chance, after she had a 40-0 lead. But the opponent didn’t give up! In the next game Timi won her rivals service game, took the advantage of a second chance.
Unfortunately in the next game Suarez-Navarro broke after 30-30, and she easily hold the lead (4:2). Timi tried everything, but it was not enough. She lost her serve again, and after 5:2 the Spaniard won the last game to 30.
