Defeat in doubles in Eastbourne

23/06/2015 – This year’s Australian Open finalists, Chan Yung Jan and Zheng Jie won in two sets against Timi and Kristina Mladenovic in the opening round of the doubles.

The match lasted 1 hour 18 minutes.

At the beginning of the 48-minute first set the pairs lost their opening service game, but after that they carefully hold them. Timi and Mladenovic had break point at 5:4 and 6:5, but they couldn’t lived with the chacces.

 

And they “paid” for the lost opportunities…

 

The Taiwanese-Chinse pair won the tie-break, after a huge battle. They led 4-1 with two breaks, but it was not enough. Timi and her partner fought back (6-5), they had a chance to equalize as a server. But they lost that crucial point…

 

At the beginning of the second set the Asian pair jumped to a 3:0 lead, they broke the French player. And they had three receiving points to a 4:0 lead. Timi and Mladenovic came back, but after that they had no chance to catch the opponent.

 

Chan and Zheng won the last game, at 5:3 to 30, and they finished that close encounter.
