21/03/2013 – It was smoother than expected: Timi & Mandy Minella won in the first round of the 5,185,625 USD Sony Open Tennis in Miami in two sets.
The Bogota Champions lost only four games against Liga Dekmeijere and Olga Govortsova, The meeting lasted 58 minutes.

“I am very happy with the win! I look forward to possibly play against Errani and Vinci. I’m training a lot … 🙂 especially physically. This is a very nice tournament, it’s pleasure to be here!” – Timi said after a successful debut.
The encounter “promised” a close match, “promise”, and the more routine Dekmeijere-Govorcova pair was the favourite. The Belarus player won eight WTA doubles titles, but was not really fresh, because not long before the doubles match she played three sets singles game against Sloane Stephens.
Timi and Mandy started very well, they broke Govortsova’s serves, although the opponent broke back immediately (2:1). Fortunately, this did not bother the Bogota Champions, they won Dekmeijere’s serve to 30.
Timi and Mandy continued to run, pulled away to 5:2. Dekmeijere came back, and this time the Latvian tennis player could not hold her serve again, the opening set completed in 30 minutes.
Timi and Mandy led 2:0 at the second set, but the rival had some good shots, they leveled at 2:2. In the following game the Hungarian player hold her serve after 40-40, and it’s proved decisive. Timi & Mandy Minella once again gains the upper hand, with another two breaks they won the match.
