The match lasted 47 minutes in Quebec City.

 

The Hungarian-Czech pair, which fight for the WTA Finals, won confidently in the opening round in Quebec, although on the other side of the net there were two very talented junior players, two Grand Slam finalists.

 

In the 21-minute first set, Timi and Hlaváčková had four break point after 1:1 and they won that game to 30. Then, after 4:2 the first seed pair broke the opponent to 15. The Hungarian-Czech team did not lost a rally in the eight game. So it was a smooth start. Timi and her partner lost only a single rally in four service games.

 

The second set did not turn much tighter. The Hungarian-Czech pair immediately won the opponent’s serve (to 30). then had another two break points after 2:0. This was overwhelmed by Arconada and Dolehide, and then they surprised the rival with a break to 30.

 

Then, Timi and Hlaváčková won the US-pair’s service game to 40, and secured the victory after 4:2. The first seed pair broke the rival to 30, and finished the match behind their own serves (to 0).

 

In the quarter-final Timi and Hlaváčková will meet Desirae Krawczyk and Jamie Loeb.
