31/03/2015 – Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic lost only three game against Vera Dushevina and Maroa José Martínez Sánchez in the quarter-final of the Miami Open.
The match lasted 55 minutes. The Hungarian-French double will play in the semifinal for the third time this year – after Sydney and Dubai – : the opponent will be Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza (Swiss, Indian, 1).

“Despite the ranking it was not an easy match today. In doubles you should be concentrate for every point, anything can happen. Fortunately, today we played very well, both of Us all the way. We complemented each other well, we won all the important point! We played in a sold-out stadium, it was a good experience. I look forward to the next match”– said Timi after the quarter-final.
The Dushevina – Martínez-Sánchez duo celebrated two major victory in Miami Open: especially the success in the first round is worth a lot. The Russian-Spanish duo won against the third seed Kops-Jones – Spears pair, both member of the US double is ranked 10th place in the world rankings.
Fortunately, in the Miami Open quarter-final Timi and Mladenovic were the better, they gave no chance at the most important moments. Although the match did not start well …
The Hungarian-French double won the opening service game from 15-40, so the opponent had three break point. Fortunately, Timi and her French partner finally took the control, after 1:0 they broke the rival to 0. Dushevina and Martínez Sánchez won a game at 3:0, but after 4:1 they lost their service game again, this time to 15. In the seventh game the 7th seed pair lost only one rally, so they won the set.
The second set not developed much more closely. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic broke to 0, immediately. Then they won the opponent’s service game to 30, so they led 3:0. After that the Russian-Spanish duo hold two service game, but they only postponed the end of the quarter-final.
At 5:2 Timi and Kristina Mladenovic led 40-15, then they won the game to 40. So they advanced to the semifinal.

The 34-year-old Swiss legend is ranked 5th in doubles, her career best was 1 (8 June 1998). During her career, she has won 42 WTA and 1 ITF tournament in this genre. She remained unbeaten in Nine Grand Slam women’s doubles tournament: four times at the Australian Open (1997, 1998, 1999, 2002), twice at the Roland Garros (1998, 2000) and Wimbledon (1996, 1998), and once at the US Open (1998 ). Martina Hingis won the mixed doubles at the Australian Open twice (2006, 2015).
The Swiss player this year won in Brisbane (Australia, 1 million USD, hard court, Co: Sabine Lisicki) and Indian Wells (USA, 5 381 235 USD, hard court, Co: Sania Mirza).
The 28-year old Indian player is ranked 3rd in doubles, it’s her career best. So far, she has won 24 WTA and 4 ITF competition in this genre. She was finalist in 2011 in Women’s Doubles at the Roland Garros, while she is a three time Champion in Mixed Doubles. She won: 2009 – Australian Open, 2012 – Roland Garros, 2014 – 2014 US Open. At the end of the 2014 season she won the WTA championship with Cara Black of Zimbabwe.
Before the Indian Wells triumph Mirza remained unbeaten in Sydney (Australia, 710,000 USD, hard court, Co: Bethanie Mattek-Sands)and played in the final in Doha (Qatar, 731,000 USD, hard court, Co: Hsieh Su Wei).
