14/09/2015 – The 7th seed Alja Tomljanovic won in 2 hour and 14 minutes against Timi in the first round of the 250 000 USD WTA tournament in Tokyo.

Timi started the match very well: in the 30-minute first set she quickly jumped to a 5:1 lead. In the opening game she hold her serve after 15-40, then broke the opponent twice (to 0, and then to 30). Then Tomljanovic “awakened”, came back to 5:3. But the Hungarian player won the next service game to 15, so she closed the set.
Unfortunately, the sequel was not so well…In the 36-minute second set the Croatian player had an early break, after 2:1, and she had three set points at 5:2. As a receiver, she couldn’t finished the second act.
Then Timi broke back, and had 6 balls to 5:5. But without success…Her opponent won that game, and she finished that interesting set.
In the final set the Hungarian player twice led with a break (1:0, 4:3). But she quickly lost that lead, and it was crucial. At 5:6 she saved three match points, but she had no chance in the tie-break. Tomljanovic broke her opponent twice, and finished the match easily.
Next week Timi will play in the 250 000 USD WTA event in Guangzhou (China).
