Chinese opponent in Suzhou

04/08/2013 – After the final in Donetsk Timi will play in China next week, this time at the CAOXIJIU Suzhou Ladies Open.

On Sunday, the organizers made the singles and doubles draw: the first seed Hungarian will meet a domestic player on Tuesday.


Timi’s opponent is a wild-cardist, Lin Zhu. The 19-year-old Chinese player is ranked 623rd, her career best was 493, in 10th of June this year.


This season Lin Zhu was in the quarter-final in Mildura (25 000 USD) then reached the last four at Sydney (10 000 USD). In May she marched to the quarterfinal in Seoul, Korea (15 000 USD) again. So far she won two ITF tournaments.


Timi also play doubles in China with Michaella Krajicek. The 24-year-old Dutch struggled with heart problems for a long time, she starts in Suzhou with protected ranking. Now she’s only 419th in doubles, but she was the 34th placed in 25.09.2006. Krajicek was a finalist in doubles 13 times in WTA tournament, she won in 2006 in Palermo and Budapest with Slovakian Janette Husarová, in 2008 at s’Hertogenbosch with Marina Erakovic from New Zealand, while in 2010 with the American Vania King in Memphis.


The Hungarian-Dutch duo’s first opponent will be Sema Yuriko Suzhou and Zhou Yi-Miao. The Japanese player is 205th, while her Chinese is 141st ranked.


The 26-year-old’s Sema won 12 ITF doubles tournament. Her career best was 150th position in 19.04.2010. This year she was a semifinalist in Australia, Burnie  (25 000 USD, Co: Xenia Lykina) and in Ipswich (25 000 USD, Co: Namigata Junri) , she celebrated tournament triumphs at Mildura (25 000 USD, Co: Lykina), Grado (25 000 USD, Co: Zhou Yi-Miao) and Brescia (25 000 USD, Co: Monique Adamczak).


The 22-year-old Zhou has won 8 ITF doubles tournaments. Her career best was in July 15th, she was 139th. This season she was a finalist in Huzhu (25 000 USD, Co: Liu Chang), celebrated tournament victories in Grado and Beijing (75 000 USD, Co: Liu).
