03/01/2015 – On Saturday the main draw was made for the 500 000 USD Shenzhen Open: Timi’s opponent in the first round will be the local player, Quiang Wang.
The 21-year-old Hungarian player is ranked 99th, in China she will play only in singles.
Timi’s first opponent will celebrate her 23rd birthday on January 14. Wang is ranked 102nd. Her career best was 97 (10 November 2014). During her career she won nine singles ITF tournaments, last year she celebrated four times.
At the beginning of the 2014 season Wang remained unbeaten in New Delhi (India, 25,000 USD, hard court). At the end of spring she won in Kurume (Japan, 50,000 USD, grass) and in Tianjin (China, 25,000 USD, hard court).
In the summer of 2014 Wang had also achieved great success, she triumphed in Wuhan (China, 50,000 USD, hard court). In early autumn, she reached the main draw from the qualies at the US Open. She lost in the second Round. In late October she was a finalist in Ningbo (China, 125,000 USD, hard court).
