10/05/2013 – The first seed Hungarian player lost only five games against Teodora Mircic in the semi-final of the Soweto Open, the match lasted 64 minutes.
Timi’s opponent in the final will be the South African Chanel Simmonds.

World No 361 Mircic was the surprise of the Soweto Open, but fortunately had no chance to get into the final.
Timi started very well, after a quick break she had a 3:0 lead. The Serbian player then won a game, but after 4:1 the “birthday-girl” again won her opponent’s serve. The first seed immediately lost her service game, but after 5:2 she broke again Mircic.
The second set started surprisingly, the 25-year-old Serb took Timi’s serve, but fortunately was not able to keep the lead. After 3:2 the Hungarian player broke again her rival, this is decided the fate of the semi-final.
Timi will meet in the final the 4th seed Chanel Simmonds. The 20-year-old South African is 179th ranked, her career best was 171 at 25.02.2013. She has won 11 ITF, tournaments in singles, the last triumph was back in December at Potchefstroom (10 000 USD, South Africa).
