The match lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes.
In the first 24-minute set, Timi won her opponent’s serve to 30 after 0:2, but in the sequel, Diyas was much more accurate. The 12th seeded of the qualies broke her opponent twice, bringing the opening act smoothly.
The second set was much tighter. Firstly, Timi won her serve from 15-40 and then led to 2:1. Diyas broke again in the fifth game and immediately lost her serve.
Unfortunately, this did not mean a turn, because after that the Hungarian player won only one rally in the next game. Diyas has since retained her break advantage.
Timi is second seeded in doubles with Kristina Mladenovic. The Hungarian-French pair got Bye in Round 1.
