Bad start in the Netherlands

12/06/2017 – After the first set, Timi was able to win a total of five games.

The match lasted 2 hours and 2 minutes in s’Hertogenbosch.


The first half of the 47-minute opening set well developed for Timi, but Rus played very dangerously. The 6th seed saved two break points in the opening game, but had no chance in the first two receiving game.


Then, after 3:2 the Hungarian player won the opponent’s serve and led 5:2. But it not enough, after 5:3 she lost her service game from 40-30. And few minutes later, it was 5:5. Timi hold her serve to 0, and broke Rus from 40-0. So, the opening act was finished.


Unfortunately, the sequel was not good enough for Timi. Rus played more courageously and more accurately, hit a lot of winners. hitting a lot of wins. The Dutch player repeatedly exploited her opponent’s mistakes, after 1:1 she broke to 30. Then in the seventh game she won Timi’s serve to 40. After that, the Hungarian player had three break points (0-40), but the Dutch player finished the 30-minute second act, with a precise game.


In the decisive set, also Rus was the dominant player. She broke her opponent twice and jumped to a 4:0 lead. Timi found her game for few minutes, she came back to 4:3. But she did not lived with her chance in the next two games.


Rus won the match as a receiver with a beautiful and precise pass shot, after 5:3 and 40-30.
