Timea Babos, Kristina Mladenovic (Hungarian, French, 1)-Eugenie Bouchard, Lesia Tsurenko (Canadian, Ukrainian) 1:6, 6:2, 11-9

In the 21-minute first set the last year’s Wimbledon singles finalist Bouchard and her partner, Tsurenko began with an easy break to 0, then few minutes later they led 5:0. Because Timi and Mladenovic lost two games in a row from 40-15, behind their serve and as a receiver…

After 5:1 the Canadian-Ukrainian duo won their service game to 0, so they finished the set.

The second set had formed quite differently. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic jumped to a 5:0 lead with two breaks. Then the opponent played better, they came back to 5:2. But in the next game the first seed pair broke the rival to 0.

In the tie-break Timi and Mladenovic led several times with a reak, but Bouchard and Tsurenko came back. The Hungarian-French duo led 8-5, then 9-7. But the opponent equalized. After that Timi and Kiki broke the opponent again, and the Hungarian player finished the match behind her serve.

The Hungarian-French duo’s opponent in the quarter-final will be Ysaline Bonaventure and Demi Schuurs.
