Austrian opponent in singles in Tashkent

08/09/2013 – On Sunday the draws were made for the 235 000 USD Tashkent Open: in singles Timi will meet the third seed Yvonne Meusburger.

The Hungarian player and Yaroslava Shvedova are the first seeds in doubles, the opponent is the Kyrgyz Ksenia Palkina and Belarusian Polina Pekhova.

 

“We’re through to an another day!I had two work-outs on the cour and one in the gym, I had good day. We have the draws. I’m glad, that we are the first seeds in doubles, I hope we will be good with Yaroslava. In singles I had a tough draw against the high seed opponent. But I can beat her with a good game. Support Me! Otherwise, it’s not a bad tournament. There are a few interesting things, but I love it”– said Timi from Tashkent.

 

Yvonne Meusburger is currently in the 64th place in the singles rankings, her career best was 58th in July 22nd. The experienced Austrian player began the professional career in 1999, but only this year won first WTA title. But it’s true, she celebrated after 15 ITF events.

 

The third-seeded of the Tashkent Open was finalist in 2007 Bad Gastein WTA tournament, but lost the last match 6:1, 6:4 against the 2010 Roland Garros champion Francesca Schiavone.

 

Meusburger wainted until this season for the next final! In Budapest she lost against Simona Halep (3:6, 7:6, 1:6), but in Bad Gastein she didn’t give a chance for Andrea Hlavackova (7:5, 6:2).

 

In addition to the two WTA finals Meusburger in 2013 won three 25 000 USD ITF events: in April in Tunisian La Marsa, and then a few weeks later in Wiesbaden (Germany) and Grado (Italy). At the US Open she lost in the first round against the Chinese Peng Shuai (3:6, 4:6).

 

In doubles Timi and Shvedova will meet Palkina (203rd ranked) and Pekhova (141). Timi is 60th, Shvedova is 61st ranked in doubles at the WTA.
