31/07/2016 – In doubles Timi and Reka Jani will play the first match against a Ukrainian duo.
In Florianopolis the main draw was made for singles and doubles for the 250 000 USD WTA tournament called Brasil Tennis Cup: Timi’s first opponent would have been Teliana Pereira.
However, after the draw it turned out to be that Yulia Putintseva not enter the event in Florianopolis. So Pereira became the ninth seed, and Timi got an opponent from the qualies.
On Sunday it turned out to be that the Hungarian player will meet Nadia Podoroska in the opening act.
The 19-year old Argentine player is ranked 239th, this is her career best. So far, she has won 3 ITF events. This year, she remained unbeaten in Sao Jose Dos Campos (Brazil, 10 000 USD, clay) and Denain (France, 25 000 USD, clay).
In doubles Timi’s partner will be Réka Jani, in preparation for the Olympic. The two player from Sopron has achieved great results together in the junior competitions, and among the adults they were also a successful duo. Réka Jani is currently ranked 173rd, her career best position was 159 (7 July 2014). So far, she has won 22 ITF doubles title.
The Hungarian pair’s opponent will be the dual of Olga Savchuk and Elina Svitolina.
Savchuk is ranked 56th, her career best position was 44 (August 3, 2015). So far, she has won 2 WTA and 8 ITF tournament in doubles. Svitolina is ranked 239th in doubles, has a career-best of 108th position. So far, she has won 2 WTA and 2 ITF tournament in this genre.
