The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes in Dubai.
The first and second parts of the 35-minute opening act can be divided into two completely different scenarios. Melnikova always brought her serve until 3:2, and even had a break ball in the second game. Timi finally defended her serve and then took control from the sixth game.
After 3:3, the Hungarian player won her opponent’s serve to 30, then in the ninth game she got three set balls as a receiver. Eventually, the first set was finished with the last chance.
Timi also led 3-0 in the second act when a change ensued. The Hungarian player lost her serve twice, fortunately the break came immediately, twice. Then after 5:3, Timi won her serve from 15-30, making it to the second round of the qualifier in Dubai.
The next opponent will be Tessah Andrianjafitrimo. The French player, (born: 11 October, 1998) is ranked 254th, with a career best position of 242nd (October 14, 2019). So far, she has won 4 ITF tournaments in Singles.
