We look forward to Friday, another Grand Slam final! Of course I am preparing for the final and the subsequent tournaments”– Timi said.

Almost unbelievable, but a year ago the Hungarian-French pair won 6:4, 6:2 in the best four in Melbourne! In 2018 the opponent was Su Wei Hsieh (Chinese Taipei) and Shuai Peng (China). Soon came another tight game, Brady and Riske once again played well as a receiver: Timi and her partner came back from 0-40, then saved another break point. After that, they won the game (4:2). Brady and Riske then saved a break point, but they didn’t have a chance to translate. The defending champions won the next two own games to 15, so they closed the opening act (6:4).

The second set was beautiful. Timi and Kristina Mladenovic pulled to a 3:0, broke the opponent to 30, then to 40. Brady and Riske then won the Hungarian player’s serve from 30-15, but the answer came immediately. The Hungarian-French pair broke to 15, then hold tehir serve from 15-40.

The Americans didn’t give up, and they hold their serve from two match point, but after 5:2 they could not come back. Timi and her partner led 40-15, and won the fourth match point.
