The match lasted 1 hour and 37 minutes in Melbourne.

In the opening game of the 51-minute first set, the Australian-Chinese pair saved four break point. Unfortunately, this was also true for the sequel, Stosur and Zhang were just over the top in the most important moments. In the third game Timi and Kiki Mladenovic won their opponent’s serve after a big battle, taking advantage of the third chance, but soon came the turn.
The Australian-Chinese pair won int he QF against the World No1 Czech team, and this time also played very well. I the sixth game, they took Timi’s serve to 40, then broke Mladenovic to 30. After 5:3, Stosur and Zhang lost two rallies, so they closed the opening act.
In the second set, Timi and her partner led 3:2, and they had a break chance. Without success…Unfortunately, int he next game Stosur and Zhang broke Mladenovic from 30-0, then cam two easy service games.
At 5:4, Stosur served for the title, when Timi and Kiki Mladenovic had a break point. They could not lived with this chance, and later the Australain player won the second match point.
