The Hungarian-Indian pair reached the QF with a stable game after Timi has already participated in a difficult and thrilling Women’s Doubles QF on Tuesday.
The fifth seeded pair broke the opponent after 1:1 in the 29-minute opening act. After that, Timi and Bopanna kept that lead easily till 5:4. In the tenth game, King and Škugor had three break points, but after all, the opening act ended.
In the second set, Timi and her Indian partner won the opponent’s serve to 15 after 2:2. In the eighth game, the American-Croatian pair got another three break chances, but without success. In the last game, Bopanna won his serve to 30, after 15-30.
Timi and her partner will meet Abigail Spears (USA, WTA doubles ranking: 29th) and Juan Sebastian Cabal (Colombian, ATP doubles ranking: 23rd).
