16/01/2015 – On Friday, the main draw was made in Melbourne for the Australian Open: Timi’s opponent will be the 25th seed Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova.

The Czech player was born on March 28, 1986, her career best position was 25 (10 November 2014). Throughout her career, she has won one WTA and 9 ITF tournament. She played a total of 5 WTA final, she won in 2011 in Quebec City.


In the 2014 season Zahlavova Strycova was finalist in Birmingham (710,000 USD, grass) and Luxembourg (250,000 USD, carpet). In England she lost against Ana Ivanovic (6:3, 6:2), while in Luxembourg she was defeated by Annika Beck (6:2, 6:1).


The experienced Czech player in 2014 was a quarterfinalist in Shenzhen (China, 500,000 USD, hard court), in Wimbledon (Grand Slam event, grass) and in New Haven (United States, 710,000 USD, hard courts).
