This season Barthel reached the quarter-final in Antwerp (Belgium, 731,000 USD, carpet). In the second round she won against the World No7 Eugenie Bouchard (4:6, 6:1, 6:2), then lost against Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova (6:2, 6:2).
