15/02/2015 – The Former World No 1, now 12th seed Jelena Jankovic won in three sets against Timi in the opening round of the 2 513 000 USD WTA tournament in Dubai.
The match lasted 2 hours 6 minutes. The Hungarian player and Kristina Mladenovic will play in doubles in Dubai, the first opponents are Darija Jurak and Oksana Kalashnikova.

In the 45-minute first set the former World No 1 was better in almost all the way, she was the more accurate at the important moments. Jankovic began with a break, but Timi immediately broke back, then led 2:1. But after that the 29-year old Serbian star was the better, she broke the opponent twice.
At 5:3 Timi had a 40-15 lead, but she couldn’t hold the service game…
The 48-minute second set brought a great change. In the beginning, Timi won her opponent’s serve, then she saved break points. Then at 3:1 she broke again Jankovic, and after that she jumped to a 5:1 lead.
The former World No 1 won three games in a row, with one break. But after 5:4 Timi won her service game to 0, she finished the set with an ace.
Unfortunately the third set quickly decided … At 1:0 Timi lost her service game from 30-0, then at 3:0 she saved two break points, but the third was decisive. In the fifth game the Hungarian youngster broke Jankovic, but the Serbian player answered with another break. At 5:1 the former World No 1 won her service game to 40, she lived with the second match point.
