01/08/2016 – Timi and Réka Jani are preparing for the Rio Olympics.

The match lasted 59 minutes.


The two Hungarian player often played together as a junior and among the adults. But recently they played together in the 2015 Fed Cup.


This time, they faced the Olympic pair of Ukraine. Savchuk is a good doubles player and Svitolina also had great results in this genre.


In the first part of the 33-minute opening set the pairs received very well, and after 3:3 came the time of Timi and Réka. In the seventh game they broke the opponent to 15, and they hold that lead behind the serves. After 5:4, they hold their service game to 30, they won the second set point.


The second set was much smoother. Timi and her partner won the opponent’s service game after 1:1 to 30, then they broke them to 40, after 4:1. The Ukrainians came back to 5:2, but then the Hungarian double closed the match in the next service game.


Timi and Reka Jani will meet Veronica Cepeda Royg and Tereza Martincová in the quarter-final.


The 24-year old Paraguayan player is ranked 107th, her career best position was 95 (21 March 2016). So far, she has won 1 WTA and 21 ITF event is this genre. This year, Cepede Royg won the WTA tournament in Rio (Brazil, 250 000 USD, clay, Co: Maria Irigoyen).


The 21-year old Czech player is ranked 867th, her career best position was 343 (22 December 2014).
