16/08/2015 – Timi won az eventful match, in three sets against the 17th seed Heather Watson in the opening round of the qualies at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.
The match lasted one hour and 55 minutes. The Hungarian player’s next opponent in the second round of the qualifiers will be Aliaksandra Sasnovich from Belarus.

In the first set, Timi won five games in a row after 1:2. She played very well, she broke her opponent twice. In fact, at 1:1 Watson saved her service game from 15-40.
The set lasted 46 minutes, so it showed, that there was a hard battle.
The 31-minute second set brought a huge turnaround…Watson broke Timi after 1:0, and she hold that early lead. And at 4:1 the British player again won her opponent’s service game. Then she won the seventh game to 40, she won the second set point.
Fortunately, the third set brought a new turn!!! Timi broke three times, but she couldn’t hold that lead at the first and the second time. But after 4:3 Watson couldn’t lived with the psychological advantage.
Timi pulled away 40-0 as a receiver, and she lived with the second chance. And after that, she hold her sercice game. Although, she was 15-30 down.
According to the draw made on Friday afternoon, the Hungarian player’s next opponent will be Aliaksandra Sasnovich. The Belarus player won 3:6, 7.6, 7:6 against the 1st seed Monica Niculescu.
The 21-year old Sasnovich is ranked 122nd, her career best was 92 (6 October 2014).So far, she has won 11 ITF tournament in singles. This year she was a semifinalist in three ITF event. At Wimbledon she reached the main draw from the qualies, she lost in the second round.
Last year at the quarter-final of the Poities ITF event (100 000 USD, indoor) Timi won 6:7, 6:2, 7:6 against Sasnovich.
