21/10/2014 – After a great performance Timi won in straight sets against the World No 74, 6th seed Pauline Parmentier in the first round of the 100 000 USD ITF tournament in France.
The match lasted 1 hour 19 minutes. The 21-year old Hungarian player will meet Amandine Hesse in the next round.

“I’m very happy for my game today and of course it even better! I think it is a nice victory, as Parmentier just last week, beating in Luxembourg the top20 player, Petkovic. I enjoyed my service and return game. I could validate my game, this resulted at the end with this nice victory”– Timi said happily after the match.
Timi started very well in the first 34-minute opening set, she broke her rival to 30 in the second set. Then she won her own service game to 15, she led 3:0. After 4:1 Parmentier took control for a few minutes.
At 4:2 the 28-year old French player broke her opponent to 15, but Timi immediately responded. The young Hungarian broke the sixth seed and after that she won her own service game from 0-30.
At the beginning of the second set a huge fight developed. Timi immediately won Parmentier’s serve and saved a break point in the next game (2:0). The the French player repeated it, she saved a break point.
Then came the longest game of the match. Parmentier was able to save three break point, but Timi lived with the fourt chance and later jumped to a 5:1 lead. In the next gae the local player saved three match point, but after that Timi easily hold her service game and advanced to the next round.
The Hungarian player’s next opponent will be the World No 199 Amandine Hesse. The 21-year old French player’s career-best was 183 (8 September 2014). So far she has won three ITF singles tournaments. This year she was a quarterfinalist in Biarritz (France, 100 000 USD, clay), this is her best result.
